A clip of St. Benedict Parish Choir rehearsing Ubi Caritas, Gjeilo for the spring concert and prayer service (2015)
The St. Benedict Parish Choir is comprised of singers from a variety of music backgrounds. Repertoire includes sacred chant and compositions from great composers such as Mozart, Rachmaninov, Faure, and Palestrina. Volunteers in the choir can expect to experience joyful fellowship in common love of great music and good will toward all the members of our parish family.
In addition to fundraising CDs, the choir has hosted and supported non-liturgical events centered on music and prayer to uplift the community in Atchison. The singers have performed a concert with the Benedictine College Chamber Singers, led the parish in the chanted Divine Mercy Chaplet, and provided music for the Corpus Christi procession at St. Benedict's Abbey.
The choristers sing each weekend for Sunday liturgies as well as for special feasts and solemnities at St. Benedict's or St. Joseph's churches. They rehearse weekly from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesdays at St. Benedict's Church.
